Meet the Team
SQL*LIMS® Research and Development (R&D)
SQL*LIMS R&D is raising the bar to automate more processes related to many aspects of the laboratory, which means developing the right product with high-quality. The SQL*LIMS R&D team is an important piece of that quest by developing and testing new products with functionality and enhancements identified by our customers, internal experts, and changing regulations and trends. Meet three employees from the SQL*LIMS R&D group.
Dave Ciabattoni
Director, SQL*LIMS R&D
Dave joined the SQL*LIMS R&D team over 13 years ago. He began as an engineer and has steadily progressed through positions with increased responsibility. Using his experience at all levels of the group, Dave now directs the SQL*LIMS R&D team. Responsible for determining the best way to develop new products and implement changes, Dave finds a high degree of satisfaction in helping customers be successful. Dave received a BS in Computer Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Sai Vikram
Staff Engineer, SQL*LIMS R&D
Sai has been with the SQL*LIMS R&D team for seven years. As a Staff Engineer, Sai provides the hands-on management—from leading the project and coaching engineers to writing code. Most recently, Sai has been involved in developing service patches. Sai gained his technical expertise from previous work experience developing web-based applications for the financial and telecommunications industries. Sai holds an MS in Software Engineering from San Jose State University, and a Masters in Computer Applications from an Indian university.
Mellanie Mercado
Senior Software Test Engineer, SQL*LIMS R&D
Before joining the SQL*LIMS R&D team, Mellanie worked in the biopharmaceutical industry for 12 years, spending several years as a QA/QC Specialist with the last 2 years dedicated as a SQL*LIMS R&D Coordinator in a QC Biopharma lab. She joined the SQL*LIMS R&D team seven years ago testing software products such as service patches and SQL*Stability according to requirements and specifications. Mellanie feels her work is exciting because, “…after being a SQL*LIMS user, my involvement with the team opens an opportunity to share my past experiences and contribute to raising the quality of the product for other LIMS users.” Mellanie is a graduate in Chemical Engineering from the Philippines.
